About NHKBA

The Netherlands Hong Kong Business Association (NHKBA) promotes bilateral relations between the Netherlands and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Its members form a network of people with often decades of experience in working and/or living in Hong Kong and doing business in, with or via this city.

The NHKBA was established as the Vereniging Nederland-Hong Kong in May 1978. Founding members were Mr Simon Italiaander, Mr Frank Goldberg and Mr. Tim Harley (✞).

It is the oldest of a network of similar Hong Kong Associations, all over the world.

As many of the members of the “Vereniging” were English speaking, the association used the name “Netherlands Hong Kong Society” until late 2016.

The NHKBA is a founding member of the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide. See the website of the Federation for more information.

The Netherlands Hong Kong Business Association provides a network for Dutch people interested in Hong Kong and for people in Hong Kong interested in the Netherlands. Hong Kong is one if not the most dynamic platform for doing business with mainland China and the Asia-Pacific region. The SAR is also home to more than 5000 Dutch nationals and at least 200 Dutch companies are established in Hong Kong.

The Association offers members and their guests an opportunity to exchange, knowledge, ideas and experiences and to gain first hand information from prominent visiting speakers. The NHKBA regularly presents programs of interest and value to its members.

The objective of the NHKBA is to strengthen bilateral ties between Hong Kong and the Netherlands.
