About Dōngzhì

In Hong Kong, China and other countries in Asia, the Dōngzhì Festival is one of the most important annual festivals. Dōngzhì literally means ‘the beginning of Winter’ and just as in the West, the festival is a celebration of the fact that the days will lengthen again after 21st December.

During the Dōngzhì meeting, speakers from Hong Kong and the Netherlands will inform you about the developments in the Special Administrative Region and the forecasts for 2018. In addition several entrepreneurs will talk about their personal experiences in the port town.

About Kasteel De Wittenburg

“Castle” De Wittenburg was designed by the architect J.J. van Nieukerken for Jonkheer H.M. Speelman. It was completed in 1901. In 1955 the estate was purchased by the Minicipality of Wassenaar.

Since 1963, the Castle has been used by the members of the “Vereniging Internationaal Ontvangstcentrum van het Bedrijfsleven de Wittenburg.” The goal of this association is to maintain the building as a reception and conference centre for its members. The current proprietor of “De Wittenburg” is Mr Lasé Hu.

Besides classic meetings rooms and a conference hall, De Wittenburg also offers 10 hotel rooms.
