Members Only Meeting: “The Art of Dealing in Chinese Antiques”

May 3 | 15:00 - 17:30

Free

Vanderven Oriental Art | ’s Hertogenbosch

NHKBA member Floris van der Ven, director of Vanderven Oriental Art, invites you for a “members only meeting” in his gallery in the centre of ‘s Hertogenbosch.

About Vanderven Oriental Art

Vanderven Oriental Art was founded on the auspicious day 8 -8-1968 by Clemens van der Ven and his sister Bea. Starting out as a general antiques shop, their drive, passion and eye for beautiful objects quickly earned them a loyal client base and excellent reputation. In the subsequent years, they became so enthusiastic about Chinese art, that they decided to focus on this area. Now, after nearly 50 years in the business, Vanderven Oriental Art is considered one of the world’s leading international dealers in this specialist field.

Vanderven Oriental Art is one of the founding exhibitors of the most important art and antiques fairs in the world, the TEFAF. They participate in the TEFAF events in both Maastricht and New York. In addition, Vanderven Oriental Art annually joins the “Fine Art Asia” fair in Hong Kong as well. The objects they sell nowadays are often from Western collections that were built up over many years.

Members Only Meeting

During the meeting, Floris van der Ven will talk about how the trade in Asian antiques and especially in Chinese antiques has changed over the years and how he and his team have reacted to the changes and remained a world leader.
A story of passion, expertise and entrepreneurial spirit.

This meeting is intended for all NHKBA members and their guests who appreciate Asian antiques as well as for collectors of these antiques.

If participants in the meeting are interested, we can organise an informal dinner in a nearby restaurant following the meeting.
