Hong Kong’s exports to the Netherlands have jumped 19.2% in first half of 2017 compared with same period 2016 to a value of more than US$ 1.8 billion.
The most important export commodities that are (re-)exported from Hong Kong to the Netherlands are telecommunication equipment and parts (share of export 48.4%) , computers (share of export 15%) and semi-conductors, electronic valves and tubes (share of export 5%).
The Netherlands is currently Hong Kong’s 8th largest export partner in the world and the second largest in Europe behind Germany.
Dutch exports to Hong Kong dropped by 1.2% in the first half of 2017 compared with the same period in 2016. Milk, cream and other milk products (other than butter and cheese) retained the largest share in the exports: 25.2% with a value of almost US$ 313 million. The export of milk and milk products from the Netherlands dropped with almost 30% compared with 2016.
