Wilfred Mohr (1959) is inspector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since September 2016.
Upon graduation from the Netherlands’ University of Groningen with a Business Economics degree, Wilfred started his career as a career diplomat with the Netherlands’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During his tenure with the Ministry, Wilfred has been posted overseas as Trade Secretary in Norway and Indonesia, in Afghanistan as the Charge d’Affaires and as Consul General in Hong Kong.
In addition to overseas postings, Wilfred worked at various Ministries’ Directorates including the Directorate International Organizations, Directorate European Integration and Directorate Asia and Oceania. Wilfred was the Board Member of the Export Promotion Council, at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation.
Wilfred is married with three children and is an enthusiastic golfer, loves sailing and tennis. He is a regular visitor of museums and classical music concerts. He is chairman of the board of The New Dutch Academy, a Baroque music ensemble in The Hague.
Mr Mohr will speak about his time as Consul General in Hong Kong but will also share his personal views of the position of Hong Kong in the People’s Republic of China.
