With the gradual easing of flight-related measures worldwide, international airline Cathay Pacific has announced its updated flight schedule for June and July. From 21 June 2020, the passenger service from Amsterdam will operate two flights (Airbus A350) per week. From July 12, 2020, this number will increase to three per week - subject to government conditions and restrictions.

Cathay Care

To ensure that travelers travel with confidence, Cathay Pacific has created "Cathay Care". This is a series of measures that are taken at every moment of the journey, from check-in to cabin. That way, Cathay Pacific can ensure the safety of its passengers. For example, face masks are required on all Cathay Pacific flights, and the temperature of all passengers is measured before boarding. The complete overview of all measures Cathay Pacific takes regarding the health and safety of passengers and personnel can be found here.

Will Kerr-Muir, Country Manager Cathay Pacific Benelux: "We realize that we are still in the middle of a difficult time, but we are nevertheless very pleased that the colors of Cathay Pacific will be back at Amsterdam airport. The health and wellbeing of our passengers is our top priority and so we will be adhering to the guidelines introduced as Cathay Care. At the same time, we are committed to providing our passengers with the warm and personalized service they have come to expect from us".

Passengers on the Cathay Pacific flight from Amsterdam will enjoy the comfort of the Airbus A350, equipped with the latest generation of Rolls Royce Trent XWB engines. These have 25% lower fuel consumption than other common aircraft models and are a lot quieter, allowing passengers to enjoy their journey in peace. The aircraft is also equipped with HEPA filters that recirculates and filter the entire cabin air every 3 minutes, removing 99.999% of airborne contaminants.

Expansion of the network

All over the world, the borders of countries are slowly opening up again and countries are easing their measures for travel. This means that you can think about traveling again. From July, Cathay Pacific will fly from three cities in Europe; Amsterdam, Frankfurt and London Heathrow. So passengers can travel to destinations such as Hò Chí Minh City in Vietnam, Manila in the Philippines, Bangkok in Thailand or Tokyo in Japan.

As Hong Kong transit restrictions have eased up, it is now possible for travelers to transfer between Cathay Pacific and its partner airlines, with the exception of flights between Hong Kong and mainland China.
