Specialisation & Collection
Vanderven Oriental Art specialises in Asian art with an emphasis on Chinese export porcelain, and occasionally Chinese porcelain made in the Chinese taste dating from the 17th and 18th century. An impressive selection of terracotta sculptures dating from the Han (206 BC – AD 220) and Tang Dynasties (618 – 907) ranging from (prancing) horses, farm animals, fat ladies and vessels can be found in the collection. Another range of objects we offer for sale includes Chinese works of art such as early bronzes and lacquer ware. Although the main focus is on Chinese art, Vanderven’s collection also comprises ‘Japon de Commande’ objects, Chinese Export Silver and works of art.
